You Will Spend More $$$ On THIS than ANYTHING ELSE Homesteading…

Infrastructure.

It’s a money black hole on the homestead.

Shelters $ Waterlines $ Fencing $ Then go back and fix em all $

So what is the way to handle this without going broke?

Over the years we have found that taking time to develop a good design, and installing the best quality you can afford, pays for itself overtime.

A great example of that is our fencing system we installed a few years back with the help of our friends at Kencove Farm Fence.

LONG before installing this system, we designed it with the helpful product specialist at Kencove.

We spent months and months working on the design, testing ideas, until finally pulling the trigger and installing our system.

Good design insures you don’t waste money on stuff you don’t need, you are building and efficient system, and you don’t have to change it $ later.

Quality products insure that your good design sticks around a long time.

Going into our new homestead we are taking this principle of GOOD DESIGN and QUALITY MATERIALS and trying to apply it to every part of building from scratch.

We have often found when designing something for our homestead, it helps to bounce our ideas off other experts.

Recently we talked with Logan Parker, from Heirloom Builders all about laying out our new homestead and choosing a location to start building.

If you want to build a self sufficient homestead, you wont wanna miss that interview!

He shared some fantastic advice on setting up your homestead.

Like, how to heat your home for FREE with passive solar design… (click below to watch)

Building with QUALITY MATERIALS sounds like building with expensive materials… right?

Well, it isn’t always the case.

Perfect example… This amazing STRAW BALE HOME we toured recently.

This amazing, energy efficient, beautiful cozy home is literally built with straw bales.

Straw bale building is a technique that has been used by homesteaders for the last couple hundred years, and recently there is a bit of a resurgence in popularity.

This is because straw bales, contrary to popular belief, are a QUALITY building material!

Don’t believe me? watch that tour video, and see for yourself!

Building a QUALITY homestead from scratch takes a lot of money.

A lot of people have been wondering how we are going to finance this new homestead build.

The truth is we are paying for it bit by bit with the money we are earning with our ‘Homesteady’ Business.

Part of this will be earned from the revenue our Youtube Videos earn us.

How much do we make from Youtube? We answered that question in a recent #askhomesteady video…

We also answered the question if YOU should START a homestead youtube channel.

Of course go watch the video, but the quick recap… YES.

There are SO many reasons to start a Youtube channel documenting your homestead journey.

BUT REMEMBER, the number 1 reason ISN’T to earn money, (I think you will be surprised to learn how much we make after 8 years and 1000 videos on youtube)

The real big reason you should start a channel is that it is an incredible rewarding way to share your story and with others and document the amazing things you do on your own land!

Have you started a Youtube channel? Email me a link to your channel! I would love to check it out!
