Charting was only getting us so far in our big moving plans. We are getting closer to knowing where we want to live, but it was time to start putting a timeline together, so we could figure out what steps forward were really important and which ones could wait.
Big life changes can seem impossible. Turn BIG changes into a series of Stepping Stones .
That is where the timeline comes into play.
It seems unbelievable that moving will ever happen when you say “in 3 years were going to live somewhere else…”
It seems a lot more realistic to say
“in 6 months were going to buy a new car, then in a years time we will buy a camper, after which we will put our house on the market, meanwhile hit the road to test out our future home picks, find the one we like, and look for land.”
This is why a timeline is so wonderful.
It helps you breakdown a huge goal into easy steps.
This week we laid out a 3 year time line. We started with the major phases in our relocation.
- Buy Car
- Buy Travel Trailer
- Put House on the Market
- Visit Potential Home Locations
- Sell House
- Buy New House
Once we had an idea of the major phases, it was time to figure out the small stepping stones that would help us complete our journey.
So, off we go, to research new vehicles….
